It’s almost here – the 2019 Annual Melee of Kindness (AMOK)! Your mission, should you choose to accept it: pick a random act of kindness and spread it across your community. Do a solo mission or a group exercise – or both! It’s up to you to decide how you’re going to get kind during #AMOKRA19, happening April 27 & 28.
Our AMOK Program Coordinator Jean Hayes led a kindness training mission at the Supernatural convention in Chicago earlier this month. Convention attendees were given simple kindness acts to carry out over the weekend, then added their acts to a massive kindness mission report on display at the Random Acts table. By the end of the weekend, our amazing kindness enthusiasts had shared over 160 acts of kindness and filled 27 pages of mission reports. They definitely achieved their mission of spreading kindness around Chicago!
And now…it’s your turn.
There are so many ways to share kindness with someone, whether it’s sharing a smile, holding open a door, letting someone in front of you in line (or in traffic!), or larger acts like donating blood, buying someone else’s coffee, or volunteering at a local shelter. Let the agents of kindness at #SPNCHI be your guide. Have a look at their amazing output of kindness, and see if you don’t find yourself inspired to continue the mission! Once you’ve formulated your plan, be sure to share it with us on social media, using the hashtag #AMOKRA19. We’re so excited to see all the kindness you can share this weekend!
