Welcome all to our Random Acts April Newsletter,
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
― Nelson Mandela
This month’s #GetKind theme is Education, and I often think that all the work we do at Random Acts lives in this realm.
From my perspective, I see that each day, in all the interactions and experiences we each have, we are learning and calculating what kind of world we live in and what rules govern it. Is it a just or unjust place? Kind or cruel? Each encounter we have becomes our evidence as to how reality measures out. In turn, we tend to calibrate our own actions accordingly.
Thus, it seems to me that by our every action and interaction we are either demonstrating to others or having demonstrated to us what the very nature of existence is. In this way, with every kind action, we have the chance to create for ourselves or prove to another that the world is in fact a kind, compassionate, understanding place because we are creating it thusly.
So yes, I feel this is a very important aspect of Education ― to decide how we wish to treat each other and then to model that, in so doing, by our every action we bring a kinder world into being.
