As summer draws near, the days get longer, and the nights get hotter. What better way to enjoy the weather than to sit by the water and watch some beautiful, handmade lanterns float by? Join Communications Officer – Inventory Holli DeWees on July 27 at the Kansas City Water Lantern Festival in Kansas City, Missouri.
About the Festival
The Water Lantern Festival is a national organization that brings art and outdoor activity to cities around the country. They are stopping in Kansas City at the end of July, and Random Acts is joining in the fun. For a fee, guests will receive entrance to the festival, one lantern with supplies to decorate, a wristband, and a drawstring bag. The price of admission also covers the after festival cleanup, as this is a fully sustainable, “leave no trace” event. There will be music and food trucks as well. Once it gets dark, all of the lanterns will be launched onto the water – a truly spectacular sight.
If you attend, Random Acts supporters can get 10% off the cost of admission on their website by using the code RA3JL.
Holli will join the festivities from the Random Acts table, providing awesome swag as well as other activities and encouraging attendees to perform their own acts of kindness. Stop by to share with her your own kindness stories and your decorated lanterns!
