Rockwood Music Hall in New York City is the place to be on September 30! Our friend and steadfast supporter Jason Manns has gathered a fantastic group of performers to take the stage with him in a benefit concert for Random Acts.
The evening will kick off with a VIP event featuring Jason and Louden Swain frontman Rob Benedict (also known among the Supernatural fandom as Chuck/God). Louden Swain tours frequently and has become much beloved both inside and outside of the Supernatural fandom. Their most recent album, “Splitting the Seams,” is an acoustic take on many of their most popular songs, with the shake-up and slow-down giving new meaning to much of their material. Jason and Rob have also performed together as part of The Station Breaks, a relatively new band which includes Louden Swain guitarist Billy Moran, Rob Humphreys on drums, and Cooper Appelt on bass. (Rumor has it that Jason and Rob may include some Station Breaks tunes in the VIP setlist!) The two will take the stage at 5pm for the VIP audience ahead of the main show.
Later that evening, Jason and Rob will be joined by an array of friends and performers for what is sure to be a fun and energetic evening of music-making. American Idol alum, actor, and Broadway performer Justin Guarini will reunite with Jason after the two collaborated on the recent single “A Change is Gonna Come,” which raised funds for Random Acts’ Jacmel Children’s Center in Haiti. Aaron Beaumont, Rockwood Music Festival alum, Carnegie Hill Concerts co-chair, and frequent collaborator with Jason, will tickle the ivories and fill your soul with his music. Tony Award nominee and Broadway veteran Chad Kimball will take a small break from his role in Come From Away to lend his voice to the show. Rounding out the lineup is a trio of lovely ladies from Supernatural, who have also taken to the stage with Rob and Louden Swain at convention stops worldwide: Ruth Connell, Emily Swallow, and Random Acts’ own Executive Director, Rachel Miner.
Music for Kindness
Hosted by Dogwood Events, the two shows will raise funds to support ongoing acts of kindness, with 100% of the profits sent directly to Random Acts. Even Rockwood Music Hall got in on the kindness, donating a portion of their usual fee to the cause. When asked why his company, Dogwood Events, chose to put this show together, Jason replied, “Random Acts has been setting the example for charitable involvement for many years now, starting with Misha and continuing with Rachel. Those two are such an inspiration we all jump at any chance to get involved. That’s why you see such an amazingly talented group all donating their time and energy.”
We at Random Acts are so thankful to everyone associated with this fantastic event, and we appreciate everyone coming together to help support our mission. Tickets for the September 30 concerts are on sale now at DogwoodBooking.com. VIP tickets for the 5pm show are $125; general admission tickets for the 7pm show are $75. Hope to see you there!
