This year’s big Annual Melee of Kindness (AMOK) challenge — during which supporters were encouraged to spend the day doing random acts of kindness for others — turned out to be much more exciting than the Random Acts staff could ever have dreamed. In total, approximately 1,350 individuals in 23 countries ended up participating in this year’s AMOK weekend. Sifting through supporters’ submissions following an exciting weekend of inspiring projects, we were touched by the number of uniquely creative and thoughtful messages of kindness that you and so many others took to each corner of your communities and beyond.
From picking up trash at local parks, to donating blood, to baking cookies for co-workers and everything in between, you impressed us with your dedication to, once again, change the world where you are with the help of a little extra positivity and heart. Our staffers too got in on the action, spending the day at local soup kitchens, collecting pet supplies, and donating Snuggle bears with the help of our friend Justin Guarini and a few of his fellow GISHWHES team members. Random Acts co-founder Misha Collins got in on the action as well, making the rounds at a nearby park to ask the homeless community what they needed before purchasing the supplies they had requested and passing them out with his family.
