Are you going to PAX West? So are some of our staff members! Random Acts Executive Director Rachel Miner and Outreach Manager Kristin Lindsay will be chatting with representatives from other organizations about the power of fandom for social giving during a PAX West panel on Saturday, September 1.
Why this panel?
Here at Random Acts, we’re always excited to witness the power of fandom. Amazing things happen when fandom channels its energy into kindness. We love hearing about the acts of kindness that our supporters perform in their communities.
Fandom has shown its generosity by working together to build a children’s center in Haiti, build a school in Nicaragua, support hurricane relief, create a multi-organization crisis support network and advocate for many other worthy causes. Fandom is unstoppable! So, let’s talk about ways we can do even more to make the world a better place.
Sounds great — tell me more!
The PAX West panel is called Unite: Using Fandom for Social Giving, and it will take place in the Sandworm Theater at the Washington State Convention Center.
Random Acts’ very own Kristin Lindsay (Outreach Manager) and Rachel Miner (Executive Director) will be joined by Erick Blandin (Program Director at Child’s Play), Chase Masterson (Founder of Pop Culture Hero Coalition), and Charlie Capen (Vice President of GISH). Together they’ll be talking about ways to harness fandom’s power for social giving.
When is it and how can I attend?
The Unite panel will take place on Saturday, September 1 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. PAX West runs from August 31 to September 3, and you’ll need a PAX West Saturday admission badge to attend the panel. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.
You can learn more about the panel by checking out the PAX West schedule. We hope to see you at PAX West to celebrate fandom’s role in social giving!
