“Somebody, your father or mine, should have told us that not many people have ever died of love. But multitudes have perished and are perishing every hour – and in the oddest places! – for the lack of it.”
– Author James Baldwin
“I’ve been embraced by a new community. That’s what happens when you’re finally honest about who you are; you find others like you.”
– Chaz Bono
Pride Month resonates with each of us in this Random Acts community for myriad reasons. For me, it is most especially significant because it carries many messages that we so much want to embody as a group, such as:
The fact that each of us is more beautiful, more helpful, and adds so much more to this world when we live as our truest selves.
Everyone benefits when anyone is supported and free enough to express their individuality and unique abilities.
Love and compassion should be celebrated as the essential and powerful forces they are.
That you, each of you, should be given the space to flourish and feel loved for exactly who you are.
When we exist in a group that embraces us in all of our uniqueness, joy will ripple out in an unbeatable force for good.
