The holiday season can often bring with it an excuse to party! These celebrations bring us closer together and help us joyfully connect with friends and loved ones. This year, Random Acts was thrilled to facilitate two such gatherings on opposite sides of the globe.
School Celebration
In Australia, not every child celebrates Christmas, but they do celebrate the end of the school year! Random Acts Fundraising Officer Bev Burrows-Pym put together an End of Year Community Party in Queensland to bring 65 local children and their families together for a few hours of merriment.
Balloons, games, candy, and gifts were all present at this event, making it an interactive and exciting evening. The party even accommodated for parents, ensuring they had coffee and tea to drink while chatting amongst themselves. The party was a raging success, going strong until the very end! And each child got to take a small gift and some candy, giving them a little piece of that joy to take home.
Brunch at the Ronald McDonald House
In the United States, Random Acts supporter Michael Peterson was throwing a party of a slightly different variety. Michael coordinated brunch for individuals staying at the Ronald McDonald House in St. Paul, Minnesota. The Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for families whose children are staying at a nearby hospital. Michael set up a full array of delicious foods, including eggs, bacon, sausage, cinnamon rolls, and fruit, allowing those staying at the House to have a full belly before heading out to face their day.
While we love sharing acts of kindness all throughout the year, the holiday season can be a particularly special time of gathering and giving. Be on the lookout for more acts of holiday kindness all throughout the month of December by following #RAHolidayKindness!
