It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and Random Acts is celebrating in style! This holiday season, each staff member had $150 to put towards an #RAHolidayKindness act of their choice. Although we encourage spreading kindness all year long, the holiday season is an extra special time to focus on sharing our love, time, and resources with others. We had so much fun making holiday magic happen. It only makes sense to spread the cheer with a blog series telling you all about our staff holiday acts! Let’s see what the Random Acts elves have been up to…
Welcome back to the #RAHolidayKindness series! One popular way of giving back during the holiday season is to adopt a person or family to buy gifts for. This is an easy way to make someone’s holiday even more special. Several Random Acts staff members decided to spend their holiday budgets adopting people in their communities this year.
U.S. South East Regional Representative Alan Christian chose to adopt an angel from the Christmas Angel Tree at the school where he works. The angel had written down that he wanted a jacket this Christmas, and Alan wanted to spoil him by giving him much more than that. In addition to the jacket the child asked for, Alan also bought him clothing, toys, and games.
Heather Middleton, another U.S. South East Representative, adopted a family from the local Community Assistance Center in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Heather bought items from the family’s wish list and delivered them to the Community Assistance Center.
Events Manager Amanda Tucker and her family adopted a family from the local middle school this holiday season. Amanda took her children shopping for gifts to give to the family’s two songs, ages 13 and 14.
Social Media Manager Julie Merar and U.S. Great Lakes Regional Representative Jean Hayes teamed up for to participate in a program at their local Carter’s store. Carter’s partnered with a local emergency shelter for children and teens this year in an effort to collect pajamas for foster children. As part of the program, Carter’s donated a pair of pajamas to the shelter for every pair of pajamas that customers bought and donated. This meant that Julie and Jean doubled their impact adopting local foster kids and teens!
We are so proud of all of our Random Acts staff and supporters who generously adopted others this holiday season. Your generosity makes such a huge impact in your communities and around the world.
