Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager and Creative Deputy Director, the PR Strategist strengthens Random Acts’ external presence through strategic storytelling and mission-driven newsletter communications. This role focuses on deepening audience engagement, strengthening donor relationships and expanding our community through compelling, values-aligned content. This role requires about 2 hours of commitment per week.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the strategic direction of Random Acts’ newsletter content, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and campaigns.
- Identify and curate impactful stories that highlight Random Acts’ mission, community impact and ongoing initiatives.
- Define newsletter themes, narrative flow and mission-driven calls-to-action that encourages meaningful engagement.
- Monitor and analyze open rates, click-through rates and subscriber behavior to access content effectiveness.
- Translate performance insights into actionable recommendations to improve engagement, retention and conversion.
- Continuously refine content structure, storytelling approach and distribution timing based on data and audience feedback.
- Develop and execute sustainable strategies to grow an engaged newsletter audience.
- Collaborate with Writing and Digital Marketing teams to ensure strategic alignment and cohesive messaging.
- Ensure messaging consistency and brand alignment.
- Attend regular staff and departmental meetings.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Enthusiasm and commitment to the objectives of Random Acts.
- Experience in PR, non-profit communications, editorial planning or content marketing.
- Strong storytelling skills with the ability to structure narratives that inspire action and community engagement.
- Experience with email marketing tools and performance analytics.
- Ability to interpret engagement metrics and translate them into actionable improvements.
- Strategic and data-driven mindset with a continuous optimization approach.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
