Changing the world one random act of kindness at a time.

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, parents, children, and educators are being asked to adjust to working and learning from home. It is with determination, acceptance, and sometimes the comfort of athleisure wear that everyone has stepped up to the challenge. Therefore, we at Random Acts are changing with the times and our Class Act program is evolving to better serve our community.

Since 2013, this program has encouraged students at a High School level or under to come together to perform a single act of kindness or collection of kindness acts. A club, classroom, or even a whole grade level can perform this project over the course of a day or a semester. The participant or group with the most creative and inventive act of kindness wins the Class Act Award.

Past winners have led efforts to conserve local wetlands, created kindness quilts, and operated “kindness stations” serving their community for a whole day. The only requirement is that students make a difference in their community. And our only hope is that they enjoy giving kindness along the way!

WHAT HAS CHANGED

Now participants can join our Random Acts – Class Act Facebook group! This is an opportunity to build a support system with

other parents, educators, and children facing the struggles of COVID-19. As well, it’s a great way to find resources and inspiration, and even to make a friend or two.

This award program is available to schools around the world. Random Acts has now extended eligibility to all homeschool programs. It is a chance for us to support children, adults, and educators whether they are homeschooling for the first time or the tenth year running.

We have also extended the application deadline to the end of the month on May 31, 2020. Interested applicants can fill out this form with the details and documentation discussing their act of kindness.

The winner will still receive a trophy for display and a cash prize of $6,000 USD or an equal amount in the denomination of their country. This money will either be provided directly to the school or recipients may choose a nonprofit to receive the donation.

STAY CONNECTED

To stay connected, participants can join our Random Acts – Class Act Facebook group, follow our @RAClassAct Twitter, or email classact@randomacts.org for assistance. We want to hear what our support means to you and how we can do better.

A display of goodwill in trying times is wanted, needed, and always appreciated. It leaves a positive impact like a ripple effect — the waves of kindness touch family, friends, family of friends, and beyond. Please stay safe, and stay connected to your community with an act of kindness.
